“Millions are unemployed and out roads and bridges are failing apart.  If we can spend $6 trillion sending people to war, we spend $1 trillion to put Americans to work fixing our nation’s crumbling infrastructure. Let’s rebuild America and create jobs.”

$1 trillion of investment in our infrastructure would create 13 million jobs.

“The most important issue of our time is whether we expand our middle class and create a vibrant democracy of one person-one vote, or whether we continue down the road of oligarchy – where almost all new income goes to the top 1%, and where the Koch brothers and a handful of billionaires own and control the political process. This is a fight we cannot afford to lose.”

“How do we have a strong economy and a strong democracy when millions of young Americans are unable to get the higher education they need? I will soon be introducing legislation which will call for free tuition in every public college and university in America. We have got to get our priorities right, and affordable higher education should be at the top of the list.”

“What kind of economy is it when over 99% of all new income is going to the top 1%, and when the top one-tenth of 1% owns almost as much wealth as the bottom 90%? It is a rigged economy.  The very rich get much richer, while almost everyone else gets poorer. We need government policies which benefit all Americans, and not just large campaign donors’”
