Paycheck Fairness Act

With sadness I need to report that on Monday September 15, 2014 the Senate Republicans failed to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act in its fourth appearance in Congress. The bill, presented by Sen. Barbara Mikulski (D-MD), needed 60 votes to offset a Republican filibuster, but only accomplished to collect 52 votes.
The Paycheck Fairness Act seeks to bring genuine measures that work towards closing the pay gap between men and women including greater income transparency, more responsibility methods for businesses who would need to validate pay grade variances beyond gender differences, and protective initiatives for employees who identify and draw attention to gender base wage discrimination.
